My Creative Roots...
I remember the first time I had to bring a valentine card box to school. My dad and I stayed up all night working on it because I waited until the day before it was due to tell him about it. I remember how excited I was to sit my hand-made, heart-shaped man, complete with arms and legs, on my desk amid all the empty kleenex boxes with little paper hearts glued on them.

I remember the kite building contest my sixth grade class held. Again my dad and I stayed up all night to finish. But when we were finished I had the most creative, star-shaped kite that my school had ever seen. It was covered in foil, measured close to five feet across and it required two people to fly it in the strong Gulf Coast winds.

I remember the look on my mom's face when I brought my seventh grade drawing home with a note attached. I don't remember what the note said, but I remember my mom asking me why the streakers had to be anatomically correct.

And I remember that same look on my mom's face as I proudly showed off my college figure drawings when she asked why the details had to be so explicit.

Heroes and Idols...
Today, I continue the creative dreams that my father illlustrated to me and I still stay up all night to finish them, sometimes.

I am a devoted Warner Bros. cartoon buff, aspiring to heroes like Tex Avery, I. Freleng, Mel Blanc, and characters they created like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Henry Hawk, to name a few. I attribute a lot of my artistic endeavors to these heroes and many of my professional goals as well.

The Company...
thadvertising designstudio was concepted while I was attending Southwest Texas State University. However, after graduation it was necessary for me to gain valuable work experience before I could try to launch my own company.

I tried working in Corpus Christi, but soon realized that I needed to move to bigger pastures. Soon, I found myself in Austin, Texas at the beginning of the big high-tech boom. I landed a position with a high-tech sales and marketing company and worked my way up from production artist to art director.

With the recent downturn in the high-tech economy, it became evident to me that the company was not moving in the same direction that I was. So, after careful consideration I made an executive decision; launch my own company.

thadvertising design is a full-service advertising and design studio. From complex brochures and marketing collateral, to simple fliers and t-shirt designs, thadvertising design is a one-stop shop.
