Another update with a few pictures. School, soccer, and tennis are going well. Will be spending the 3-day weekend in Houston for the Navy vs. Rice football game. Kim and I managed a week-long trip to the California Bay Area last month and were able to see a few sights. Couldn't have done it without Grandma's (and Chester's) help. They stayed here and took care of the boys that week (and got an appreciation for their busy schedule).

It was quite a busy summer for us but our pace has picked up even more since school began. Thomas is back into his soccer / tennis routine, and CJ is also continuing his tennis lessons, while Kim's picked up added responsibilities of room mom / team mom / CCD teacher. Academically, Thomas is doing very well, acing all of his spelling tests, and is up to chapter 9 in his first Harry Potter book. CJ just celebrated his 4th birthday and also likes school, including adding and subtracting.
This summer kept us pretty busy with trips to Georgia, Houston, San Antonio, and South Padre Island. CJ learned how to swim and can even dive to the bottom of Grandpa's 8' deep swimming pool. Thomas enrolled in a one-week sports camp and turned into a big fan of golf.
Other events: Thomas lost his first tooth last night, and CJ continues to refine his comedy skills.

The school year is wrapping up and we're staying busy. We've enjoyed visits from Nana and Grandpa and spending Easter in Houston with Grandma. Thomas celebrated his 6th birthday last month and is into rollerblading on the skate ramps at the local skate park. CJ's turned into a big fan of anything related to Bob the Builder and is also getting the hang of his new rollerblades.

Added a few pictures. Thomas and CJ are back in the swing of things. Thomas now has nightly homework and has become quite the advanced reader. CJ likes school but refuses to tell us what he's learned there. He does well at things like climbing fences, terrorizing the local toy community, and flashing us his devious smile.

Happy 2003!! The past year treated us well in spite of a lot of family separation and change. We love our new surroundings and we've finally settled down to the point that we can keep this site updated a little more frequently.
Thomas is halfway through his kindergarten year and doing well. We're happy with his school and the fact that it's one of the best in the area. With only 12 kids in his class, he gets close attention. He's also about to begin his 4th soccer season. Things really clicked for him last season as he averaged about 2 goals per game. Thomas keeps himself busy with his new rollerblades, PlayStation2, and tennis lessons twice a week.
CJ keeps surprising us as well. His favorite movie is Shrek and he can recite nearly every line in it. He seems to learn quite a bit from watching Thomas, but is really picking up a lot from his new preschool. He makes no effort to hide his temper, and we still have no idea who taught him the phrase "Spare me the stinkin' attitude!"

Took me a long time to get this thing updated due to another hard drive problem and a faulty camera (i.e., a couple of rolls of film with nothing on them). Thomas is halfway through his preschool year and CJ is so rambunctious that we may need to put him in preschool just so we can catch a break. Thomas finished his soccer season last month and is looking to play T-ball in the spring. CJ is just as active as Thomas as he tries hard to keep up with everything that Thomas does. They had a bountfiul Christmas, and they still haven't managed to get around to playing with all of their new toys.
The coming months will be very busy for us as we work to get our house ready to sell. We also plan to visit several Florida sites that we've missed over the past couple of years.

Happy 4th of July! Added a few more pictures from April, should have more posted within a month. Combating the hot weather with lots of time in the pool. Thomas' swimming keeps improving and CJ is now very at home in the water.

What a busy year it's been... that explains the long interval between updates. CJ's vocabulary has grown steadily since Christmas, and Thomas learned how to ride a bike (without training wheels) a couple of months shy of his 4th birthday. We celebrated his birthday by making it back to Disneyworld with Tambi, Kati, and Bryana. We also spent 4 days in April with Nana, Grandpa, and Uncle Brian aboard a Carnival cruise to the Bahamas. A couple of road trips to Texas were also in order so we could say goodbye to Molly and Coy. We're still enjoying Jacksonville, and it's hard to believe that we only have a year left here.
