Just returned from Texas where we spent a busy few days with Kim's family.   CJ's christening was also held there last Sunday.  Kim is still out there and should be returning in a few days.  CJ looks to be very healthy (in other words, he's become quite the chubby baby).

Added some more photos and deleted some older ones.  Should have another set by week's end.

CJ just celebrated his one-month birthday yesterday.  He hasn't been able to really establish a routine due to our travelling for PawPaw's funeral and evacuating for Hurricane Floyd (which proved harmless).  Otherwise, he's filling out rapidly and now weighs about 11 pounds.  Thomas is adjusting well to his role as big brother and can't wait for CJ to get big so they can play trucks together.

Added a few more photos.

Those "minor pre-labor signs" which began just after midnight on the 7th were more than just minor.  After a slow-going labor, we welcomed Christopher James "CJ" into the world weighing in at 7 lbs., 10 ounces.  Mother and child are doing just fine and were released from the hospital yesterday.  Thomas has been great with CJ.  During Thomas' second visit to the hospital, CJ had been taken by one of the nurses to be cared for.  When Thomas walked in the room, the first thing he said was "Where's CJ? . . .Where's my little brother?"  So things seem to be working out pretty well in that aspect, we were worried that it might be a problem.

Added another batch of photos featuring our newest family member.

Added photos from our latest batch of film.  Major events of the past 2 months:  attempting to toilet train Thomas, and Kim growing big as a house.   As of this moment, there are minor pre-labor signs but that's about it.   Thomas is doing just fine and seems to understand that there will soon be a new addition to the family.  We're anticipating quite a few guests over the next couple of weeks, including Brian this next weekend.

We've been settled here in Jacksonville for 2 months already.  After 3 1/2 years stationed in Whidbey Island, Washington, we finally had to leave.  We bought a house here and spent the entire first month unpacking and working on home improvement projects.  The last month has been a lot slower project-wise, but we still have a few things to do.

Thomas is enjoying life here, especially since he gets to see Nana and Grandpa more often than he used to.  He stayed with them for about 3 weeks in April while Kim and I handled the work of relocating.  That worked out great for everyone, but it didn't take long for us to really miss the little guy.  His vocabulary is growing daily and sometimes it's hard to keep up with him.  He's always full of energy, but we take care of that by going for a swim or taking a trip to a playground.   Otherwise we can keep him occupied by finding anything that has to do with trains.   We did manage a weekend trip to Disneyworld and he still can't stop talking about it.  We're hoping to go again in March with Kim's family.  One thing Thomas hasn't gotten used to is the afternoon thunderstorms we get here on an almost daily basis.

Kim's got less than 2 months to go until her due date.  We're expecting another boy sometime in mid-September, I'm hoping for the 9th (i.e., 9/9/99) but we'll have to see how that works out.  Everything is going well.

Work for me has been pretty slow.  I'm going through an instructor's course that will last at least through the end of October.  After that, I'll spend a lot of time training pilots who are new to flying the P-3.  No more 6-month deployments, at least for the next 3 years.

Well, that's about it.  I'll update this as often as we need to.   Send us a message if you get a chance.
